Melanie Earned her Juris Doctor from Ohio Northern University Pettit College of Law in Ada, Ohio, in May of 2024. Before pursuing her legal education, Melanie attended Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy, Politics, Economics, and Pre-Law, graduating with University Honors in December 2020. Melanie’s academic background also includes published research, her honors project, “Trust, Political Participation, and Poverty: The Effects of Poverty on Political Behavior” (2020), offers insight into the intersection of socioeconomic factors and civic engagement.
Before becoming a Junior Associate Attorney with the Fort Wayne divorce and family lawyers at Stange Law Firm, Melanie most recently served as a Law Clerk with the firm. Before that, she served as an Intern at the Ohio Northern Legal Clinic. In that time, she gained hands-on experience performing research and drafting legal documents for Transactional Clinic clients and assisting interns and supervisors with of the Litigation Clinic with intake interviews. Her professional experience, combined with her academic foundation, equips her to advocate effectively for her clients with dedication and empathy.
