Nicholas Stanley – Junior Associate Attorney
Issues involving family law can often lead to some of the most emotionally difficult times in one’s life and the legal issues and options surrounding it can be hard to navigate without the help of an attorney. It is very important in this difficult time to have a calm and competent advocate to help you understand the legal system and to help make the difficult decisions that are right for you and your family. Nick Stanley, a Junior Associate Attorney at the firm’s Overland Park office, has built a career around helping people in need, and will continue to stand up for you to help bring stability and security back to your life.
Nick received his bachelor’s degree in Education and English from Pittsburg State University. He then took a year to work as a paraprofessional with individuals with special needs, before ultimately returning to school at the University of Missouri – Kansas City Law School. While in law school, Nick emphasized his studies in family law. As a student-attorney, he worked in UMKC’s Family Law Clinic which provides pro bono legal advice to clients who otherwise would be unable to afford legal representation in matters of legal guardianship, paternity, and child custody. Prior to graduation Nick received the John M. Speca award for outstanding performance in the family law clinic and family law coursework.
Prior to his joining Stange Law Firm, PC, Nick worked for firms with strong family law practices. He has worked with high asset divorces, high conflict custody cases, contested guardianships and conservatorships, and a number of other cases, contested and uncontested alike. Nick is currently licensed in both Kansas and Missouri and represents clients on both sides of state line on any number of family law related issues.
Nick is an avid reader, as well as a nature and animal lover. He currently lives with his girlfriend Kelsey, a veterinarian, their dog Zelda, two guinea pigs Alice and Gilly, and they spend many of their evenings at the stables with Kelsey’s horse, Chance.
